The village of Strensall is about three miles from the club and there you can find a supermarket, pharmacy, petrol station, cash machine, fish and chip shop, chinese take-away and a couple of pubs.
A little further afield you can find Thompson's fish and chip restaurant, Jinnah Indian restaurant and Tykes restaurant (Sandburn Hall).
In the nearby Monks Cross, Vangarde and Clifton Moor shopping centres you can find all the usual large shops and restaurants, ten-pin bowling and a cinema.
The medieval city of York is close by and Castle Howard, the East Coast and the North York Moors are within easy driving distance for day trips.
